It's the most wonderful time of the year! Ah award season where would we be without you? The controversies, the surprises, the snubs, and most importantly: the red carpet. Here are my personal top 10 red carpet looks from this year's Oscars.
Scarlett Johansson
Dressed in Oscar de la Renta this silver dress is timeless and oh-so chic. The train and intricate details would make anyone swoon.
Cynthia Erivo
There has yet to be a red carpet Cynthia Erivo has yet to take by storm. Nominated for her first Oscar, she proved white can be a year round color.
Brie Larson
Academy Award winner Brie Larson owned the red carpet in this pink champagne dress, complete with a cape any superhero would drool over.
Renée Zellweger
If you know me, you know I am a sucker for an asymmetrical neckline. Best Actress winner Renée Zellweger radiated elegance as she accepted her first Academy Award.
Sharon Choi
Although she did not walk the red carpet, she made many appearances as Parasite swept the awards, translating for director Bong Joon-Ho. One might call it boring, however I love the timeless look of a black jumpsuit paired with a blazer.
Saoirse Ronan
Although it was not my favorite look of the night, I do have to applaud Saoirse Ronan for sculpting her dress out of left over fabrics from her BAFTA dress. I have to give a nod to sustainability while keeping your taste.
Regina King
This dress is everything 5-year-old Bella would want. The asymmetrical neckline, the intricate beading, the beautiful shade of pink. Disney needs to take notes and immediately dress their next princess in this dress.
Natalie Portman
Only five woman have every been graced with the honor of earning an Oscar nomination and only one has taken home that coveted trophy…10 YEARS AGO. Hats off to Portman for voicing the frustration from people around the world as, once again, only men are honored for their direction.
Julia Butters
To anyone who watched the 3-hour spectacle that is Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood you quickly remember the sassy, intelligent, and fierce ten-year-old who stars opposite DiCaprio's character in his new Western program. Easily, she is the star of the show and I will forever respect her for sneaking a turkey sandwich into the Oscars.
Janelle Monae
There has yet to be an awards show were Monae has not amazed me with her fashion taste. Personally, I absolutely love the cut of the dress with the flowing skirt and modest, yet flattering top. The intricate beading once again makes the outfit look like something out of a fairy tale.
