The First Few Weeks

Somehow, summer went from feeling like it would last forever to being over in about five minutes. One day we were sleeping until noon, and the next we were waking up to an alarm that we definitely forgot how to set.

The first few weeks of school are always a mix of excitement, exhaustion, and trying to remember where we are supposed to be. New classes mean new teachers, new schedules, and new faces. By the second week, everyone is already wondering when our first break is.

Everyone always starts the year saying, “I am going to be so organized this year”. New notebooks are perfectly clean, planners are being used, and assignments are getting done early. Give it a few weeks, and suddenly we're searching through our backpacks for a pencil while saying, “Wait, when was that due?”

But despite the early mornings and busy schedules, something is exciting about starting a new school year. We get to see friends we haven't seen all summer, make new memories, and start fresh. Whether you're a freshman trying to figure everything out or a senior realizing this is your last first week, the beginning of the year always feels like a little reset.

So here's to another year at Viz: new classes, new memories, questionable amounts of homework, and a ton of new friendships.
