Breakfast, the first meal of the day, but is it really the most important? Coming from a person who used to be an everyday breakfast skipper, I have some words to share. Breakfast is the best because it’s basically your body’s way of saying, “Hey, thanks for not letting me starve while you were unconscious for eight hours.” Without it, you’re really only running off hopes, dreams, and a Celsius. Breakfast is the only way to actually stand a chance at being a functional human at school. Plus, without breakfast, you will most likely end up in the cafeteria during advisory snacking on your three balls of cookie dough instead of getting your work done. Now, while all those reasons make it important, why should it outweigh the other meals? Why not lunch or dinner? Well, what sets breakfast apart from the others is the fact that it is the very first meal of the entire day. A solid meal in the morning can set the tone for how every other meal will go. It is the group leader, the wake setter. It leads the pack, and sets the stage. Nothing compares to the taste of your first meal after 10+ hours of fasting, so yes, without a doubt, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
