Fashion Revolution At Visitation Academy

The Fashion Revolution of Visitation Academy

Many years ago, Visitation Academy’s fashion was as polished as a catalog page. Long skirts perfectly pressed, polos buttoned to the top and tucked in military style. The hallway was a sanctuary of well-mannered uniforms. But then, a subtle shift occurred. Slowly but surely, the uniform had began to evolve. The polos came untucked, skirts got rolled up higher and suddenly, the White Fox hoodie emerged into the wild. Now on dress down days, these oversized, logo covered sweatshirts are the new school uniform. Gone are the days of crisp pleats and neatly tucked in polos. Visitation Academy entered its cozy chic era, and there’s no going back. Hold on to your Uggs ladies because this “fashion trend” faculty is witnessing is unlike no other.

Polos are so last semester. The humble polo shirt, long ago, once an essential part of our school uniform, but now completely erased from existence. The handbook may say “polo shirt required” but the creative student body has interpreted this as rather a suggestion, not a mandate.

Comfort over conformity, we say. Alike to the basic, over-worn White Fox Hoodie and dare I say it….pajamas. Yes you read that correctly—actual pajamas. Some students have taken dress down day to a whole new level. “Bedroom Chic”. You might even think you’re at a sleepover, not a classroom.

The roll is real. A fundamental piece of our daily wardrobe, the plaid, pleated skirt. Why stick to the basic hemline when you can roll it to absurd heights? The rolled skirt trend has to be one of Viz’s top forms of rebellion, defying both dress code and physics. The higher the roll, the closer to graduation. The shorter the skirt, the sharper the wit. This could just be entirely my scientific observation of course, or really the brutal reality to avoiding a demerit.

Retire the White Fox Hoodie! The logo so big as if it’s supposed to be a badge of honor. It’s reached it over-saturation and should only be described as historic. Once seen as the ultimate symbol of effortless chic on dress down days, these oversized sweatshirts have now evolved into Viz’s most overplayed trend. No, the White Fox hoodie is not longer a fashion item anymore, it’s a cultural artifact and one that we’ll surely study in future history classes.

Visitation Academy’s fashion Revolution isn’t just a rebellion against uniforms, it’s an art form. We’ve transcended from the outdated concept of what an ideal Viz student should look like to something greater, embracing freedom, comfort and utter defiance.
