How to Enter Your Flow State

With it being the second semester and the announcement that the 70% or less in a class check in during your free rule will be coming back, improving or maintaining your grades has never been more important. A trend on TikTok for a while has been about getting into your flow state to study, get homework done, etc. For the people who are too good for TikTok or have screen limits, a flow state is a mental state of intense focus where someone becomes fully absorbed in what it is they are doing. They lose track of time and become fully immersed. But how does one truly achieve this? There’s so many distractions around us such as artists releasing new album dates, what’s going on in the current state of the world, the list goes on and on. But while you spiral about Harry Styles’ new album coming out, that AP Bio packet still sits on your desk. 

 

To fully enter the flow state, many psychologists give these tips: eliminate interruptions, set clear goals, optimize timing, use “flow triggers” such as listening to certain playlists, and having a good mindset about the task are just a few good ways. Hopefully, these help you with your homework or studying that you should be doing instead of reading this article.
