Tips for the 26-27 School Year

As the new school year starts, students begin the balancing act of sports, classes, and a social life once again.
How can vivettes enter the year best prepared for handling the different challenges thrown at them? There are a few proven tips that are shown to enhance student performance:
Sleep
Teenagers are recommended to sleep 8-10 hours every night. Sleep has important functions in memory storage, attention span and reaction time, and injury repairment. When students lack sleep, their focus on school and physical health can decline. Sleeping from 10:30 to 6:30 provides 8 hours of sleep every night. Adjusting this to fit your schedule is important as we continue into the rest of the school year.
Organizational Tools
When keeping track of all your different activities, having a space that contains all assignments and dates can be crucial. Finding a paper planner, google calendar, or word document are all great ways to organize your time and commitments.
Breakfast
Eating a nutritious breakfast provides essential energy before entering the classroom. It helps foster engagement and reduces distraction from hunger throughout the day. Including protein, fruits, and fiber are all components that would make a breakfast more beneficial.
Preventing Burnout
While finishing tasks and studying is important, it is equally as necessary to take breaks. Spending time with friends or returning to an enjoyed activity is crucial in preventing burnout and maintaining motivation throughout the school year. Fun activities can be arts & crafts, sports, or music.
Although returning to school can be a stressful and busy time, remember the many different experiences left to look forward to. Have a great rest of the school year, Vivettes!
