Mini Mayhem

Lydia Wiley '25 and Shri Anantha '21

Hello, my name is Lydia Wiley and I am an 8th grader at Viz this year. When I heard we weren’t going back to school and we were doing online, I was devastated. School is like my second home. Viz is filled with amazing teachers, loving students, and opportunities for everyone. Online school is great, but all I wanted to do was go back, so when we got the email that we were going to return I was thrilled! I had a feeling that this year was going to be great even with different rules and social distancing. When the first day of in person school arrived, I was a little nervous about all the new precautions, but when I saw girls cheering and screaming all those worries went away! The Seniors did a great job with their red and white outfits and some amazing posters welcoming the middle schoolers back to school! It’s so good to have older role models in the school for things like this. They worked so hard to make our entrance to school one to remember, even though they didn’t even start until the next week! I am so thankful to be at Viz during this time. Thank you Seniors for making me feel like Viz will always be the place for me!

I decided to do the middle school morning Mayhem for a lot of different reasons. First off, I just really wanted our senior class to be the first grade back on campus. This really allowed us to have the opportunity to do that. We have missed so much of the beginning of our senior year and I thought that even a little bit of love for the seniors could help us at this point. Kaitlyn Berger is one of my best friends and I knew she was thinking the exact same thing as me. As a power duo, we made it happen. It turned out great and I loved reuniting with my class. Many thanks to administration for allowing us to surprise and welcome the middle schoolers onto campus!
