The Zombie vs. Mummy Debate: Are They the Same Thing and Which is Better?

Every October, we always get people being some of the classic costumes like zombies or mummies, but if you think about it are they technically the same thing. With their decayed flesh, relentless pursuit, and ancient origins, both monsters are among the most recognizable Halloween monsters. Zombies first appeared into pop culture from 1930s Haitian folklore and really took off during the 1960s, while mummies rose from ancient Egyptian tombs, wrapped in linen and fueled by curses. Even though both are corpses risen from the dead by supernatural forces, people usually have a favorite. They ether love the zombie’s mindless, brain eating nature or the mummy’s slow, vengeful unraveling. Whether you have a favorite of these monsters the question still remains are these creatures technically the same?
